Freelance translator, educator, and PhD candidate at Yale University.  Research fellow at Waseda University in Tokyo.

Japanese cinema, games, and visual culture. Currently researching the relationship of cinema and tourism in the history of post-war representations of Hokkaido, Okinawa, and Hawai'i. I also work as an editor for {Empty Set}, a critical technology magazine.
